Grammy Award Winning Emcee “Rhymefest” gives us something rarely seen in hip hop. A special song/video that details the rapper’s reunion with his estranged, homeless Father. The video synopsis of the content on Rhymefest’s New Documentary entitled “In My Father’s House”. In a conversation with Rolling Stone, The emcee stated “I think honest themes about family and vulnerability are missing from hip hop and I hope to open up the book to that chapter with this song”. Although Hip Hop still has a great number of thought provoking, socially conscious moments, I can totally agree with the need for more songs about family and vulnerability. Big Ups to Rhymesfest for this! Check out the website for the film “In My Father’s House" here for more info.
